Digg!

Ok. Enough with the mid '90s hip hop slang. Pretty much this page is here to answer the following dire question. "Why does this guy have a website about nothing; just useless info about himself? WTF?"

Well, lemme 'splain to you shawty.

I've had a website for a LONG time... Since waaay back in the day. Now, I am not going to say that I've kept it updated or anything but I've had one.

My original website, created after reading a short article in PCWorld or some such magazine was hosted on geocities; now Yahoo! Geocities and amazingly it's still up. The article pretty much said that in one evening a novice could assemble a basic website. Boy where they right. I read the article and learned all about the "view source" feature in every web browser and the plagiarism creativity began immediately. That evening I had my first page up and over the next, I dunno, couple years I'd update it now and then but it never really turned into anything big. It was mostly just a place to put up pics of my rides.

You can see my original page here. Now it sit's deprecated, full of now broken links and ancient mad html skillz. Well... I can tell you that though CSS has come around and HTML spec has evolved three or four times my HTML coding skill has NOT. It's been a hobby I've thought about getting back to many times but I've just never sat down and actually done it.

UNTIL NOW

Oh, wait... no I haven't. My html skill still sucks... Okay well, anyway, I'm working on that.

So, I've given you a little ronnash dot com history but I still haven't answered your question. "Why does this site exist?" Well... the reason is simple. I would like to one day perhaps actually have marketable web design skill. Why? I dunno. I think it's cool maybe? It would be a nice skill set to have to fall back on. It's one of my many technical interests? The list of reasons goes on and on but having this site gives me an opportunity to test out different web technologies that I have absolutely no understanding of. (Wow... That sounds smart, huh?)Kind of like a place where I can pull the pin on a grenade just to see what happens while not having to worry about any repercussions.

So there you go. That's why I've inconvenienced enough electrons out in the ether to bring you RNDC (which stands for Ron Nash Dot Com) if that acronym was giving you any trouble.
